With Signature, you don't need to learn CSS to change the layout of your blog. Simply use the options in the Layout admin page to change the blog width, header height, content and sidebar positioning and width, even what you would like to appear in the sidebar(s).
Typography

Colour

Layout
Change the structure of your blog without worrying about HTML/CSS
You might start with a minimal approach, using a wide content area and a simple navigation block in the sidebar.
Later you might like to add an asides section, and perhaps some custom widgets. You then realize that you need more width in the sidebar, perhaps dividing it into two columns.
Imagine being able to do all this, without first having to read through tutorials and learn how to edit code.
Just go back to the Layout page, type in a new width for the content, choose two sidebars, and adjust the width of each sidebar individually. Then type in what you want in the sidebar, and it's there.
As your blog gains in popularity, you could add advertisements into the sidebar, perhaps spanning both columns at the top, or maybe a single row down the side.
Simply use the Layout page to place an Ad section into the sidebar, then go to the Miscellaneous page to enter the dimensions and images for each ad.
You can also change the height of the header and the placement of the elements within, aswell as choose the pages you would like to be displayed within the header navigation.
As your blog expands over time, your theme can expand with it, no coding required.
Colour & Graphics
Change colours & graphics with ease
Like to use your own colour scheme but don't have the know-how or desire to mess with heaps of CSS?
With Signature, it's Easy!
Just use the integrated colour picker to change the colours to whatever you like, of practically any element you like. And to save you from having to find the same colour over and over, simply click the paint buckets to save colours for easy access.
Not only can you change the colours of text and backgrounds, but you can even change the colours of a variety of preset graphics, including:

You can also use the WordPress media uploader to add your own graphics to your blogs design, such as the background image or graphics in the footer.
Typography
Advanced typographic control comes standard
Content is the heart of a blog, and the type that makes up the content should be given the attention it deserves.
Signature comes with an entire admin page dedicated to giving you control of your blog's typography, providing a level of richness that is configurable to match the style of your blog.
sIFR
Among the many available options, there is sIFR, a technology that allows you to use fonts not normally available on visitors computers. With Signature, there is no manual set up, simply choose among the many open source fonts bundled with this theme, or upload your own (in SWF format).
An added bonus is the support for automatic ligatures with five of the bundled sIFR fonts.
Paragraph Styles
With Signature, you are not limited to the default paragraph style (line breaks between paragraphs), but can choose between the following:
- Line Breaks
- Indents
- Outdents
- Droplines
- Ornaments
- Inline Ornaments
These can be chosen as the default for all posts, aswell as on individual posts through the use of Custom Fields.
Not only are the above available to you with just a few clicks of the mouse, but you can also choose font families, text styles, font sizes, line heights, letterspacing, wordspacing, as well as:
- Use dropcaps, both with and without sIFR
- Automatically convert ampersands (&) into nicer alternates (&)
- Hyphenate text
- Letterspace strings of caps and numbers
- Prevent widows
- Easily add pullquotes
- Automatic quoting of pullquotes and blockquotes, as two large quotation marks, or the typographically correct, opening paragraph quotes and closing quote only on last paragraph
Miscellaneous
Change Options with Ease
Signature has been made with ease of use in mind, and that's why the admin pages have been made so that making changes to your theme is simple and easy.
Each of the three main admin pages (Layout, Colour & Graphics and Typography) contains a full size preview of your theme. Just click on the part of your blog that you would like to make changes to, and a box will come up with the relevent options.
Advanced Pagination
Not only does Signature display page links in addition to the Newer and Older links in the post navigation, at the amount set by you, but when your visitors hover over each link, helpful information will display about the first and last post title on that page, the post date, both, or none at all.
What's more, you can use simple custom fields to add information for each page of your paginated posts, so that when your visitors hover over them, that information will display, such as a brief description of what's on that page.
